Dr. Juan Terré, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with a clinical focus on complex coronary interventions and structural heart disease.
Dr. Terré earned his medical degree in 2006 from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina. After completing training in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology, he pursued advanced formal training in complex coronary interventions and structural heart disease interventions at The Mount Sinai Hospital-Ichan School of Medicine and Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Terré has extensive training in minimally invasive, catheter-based treatments for heart and vascular conditions. His clinical focus includes complex coronary interventions and the evaluation and treatment of structural heart disease involving the aortic, mitral and tricuspid valves. He works with patients to determine the most appropriate treatment strategy, including consideration of transcatheter therapies such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (MitraClip), transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR), tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (T-TEER), transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR), and paravalvular leak closure.
Dr. Terré’s philosophy is to combine clinical excellence, evidence-based medicine and advances in cardiovascular care with compassionate, individualized treatment. He believes the best treatment is not simply the most advanced procedure, but the one that is right for each individual patient. By taking time to understand each patient’s lifestyle, values and health goals, he works collaboratively with patients and their families to develop a treatment plan that best fits their goals. His approach to transcatheter heart intervention reflects a simple principle: when a procedure is needed, the best opportunity to achieve a durable result is to perform the right procedure, the right way, the first time. He favors minimally invasive approaches that can reduce the burden of treatment and help patients return sooner to the people and activities that matter to them.
As a Spanish-speaking physician, he has a particular interest in connecting with the Hispanic community and helping expand access to cardiovascular health education and advanced cardiovascular care. Dr. Terré also speaks Italian.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Terré enjoys spending time with family and friends, and enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking and kayaking, as well as traveling, soccer and live music.
